PTTEP Joins to Restore the Ecosystem on the National Mangrove Day 2022

On May 10, 2022, Ms. Bussaban Cheencharoen, Vice President, Stakeholder Management and Social Responsibility Department, represented PTTEP in joining activities on National Mangrove Day 2022 at the International Mangrove Botanical Garden, Rama IX in Ban Samet Ngam Village, Chanthaburi Province.

Professor Dr. Sanit Aksornkaew, Chairman of the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Commission and Chairman of the Foundation for the International Mangrove Botanical Garden, Rama IX, presided over the opening ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were Mr. Sophon Thongdee, Chief of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, and executives from other agencies and organizations.

After the opening ceremony, Ms. Bussaban Cheencharoen delivered a speech on “Offshore Operations for Life to Sustainable Development,” sharing knowledge and experience in the management and conservation of marine, coastal and mangroves areas. At the same event, PTTEP provided one million aquatic animals that were released by the community, to increase the abundance of marine biodiversity and ecosystems. Ms. Bussaban Cheencharoen also joined the management team and network communities in replanting mangroves at the event.

In addition, staff from the Petroleum Development Support Base, Ranong Province participated in a mangrove planting activity as part of a renovation project organized by the Port Authority of Thailand to develop Ranong Port. The activity was held in a 52-rai area, and aims to promote measures to prevent and correct impacts on the environment. Mr. Boonchai Somjai, Ranong Deputy Governor, presided over the ceremony.
