Opening Ceremony of the Economic Aquaculture Hatchery Learning Center of Ban Phanoen and Ban Krut Communities

On June 14, 2022, Mr. Chayong Borisuitsawat, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, and Assurance Group and Dr.Yuttaphon Angkinan, Advisor to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, co-presided over the opening ceremony of the Economic Aquaculture Hatchery Learning Center at Ban Phanoen Community, Phetchaburi Province, in attendance at the opening were government agencies and partner networks. After the opening ceremony, Mr. Chayong Borisuitsawat on behalf of PTTEP donated 420,000 baht to the Ban Phanoen Community, to support the 10-year long-term plan (2021-2030) to build the conservation areas along the coastlines and establish a habitat for aquatic animals to support the continued abundance of Thai marine resources.

On June, 15, 2022, Ms. Bussaban Cheencharoen, Vice President, Stakeholder Management and Social Responsibility Department presided over the opening ceremony of the Economic Aquaculture Hatchery Learning Center of Ban Krut Community, at Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Mr. Lertyot Yamprai, Head of Bang Saphan District, gave the opening speech, he was accompanied by representatives from the Marine and Coastal Resources Office 3 (Phetchaburi), Department of Marine and Coastal Resources.

Mr. Pongsak Khamsub, Chairman of Ban Krut Aquaculture Hatchery Learning Center welcomed the visitors and guided them on a tour of the center’s activities, exhibition and hatchery, which included a demonstration of hatching baby crabs, placing a fish house, and also releasing baby blue crabs in front of the learning center.

PTTEP has provided financial support of 1 million baht for the building construction, installation of exhibition and aquaculture hatchery equipment.

The Economic Aquaculture Hatchery Learning Center Project of Ban Phanoen and Ban Krut Communities is a collaboration between PTTEP and the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources 3 (Phetchaburi), Department of Marine and Coastal Resources.  They are the 7th  and 8th centers (respectively) out of 19 learning centers that PTTEP plan to establish in 17 provinces around the Gulf of Thailand.
