PTTEP recently together with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Prince Songkla University, Kasetsart University, Ramkhamhaeng University, Phuket Rajabhat University and Enlive Foundation conducted a survey of the sea around Losin Island, Pattani Province. Information on marine biodiversity along with data on coral reefs was collected, while seawater was also analyzed on its quality and levels of microplastics. The preliminary exploration found that the coral reefs were in good condition. Some of the areas where coral had been damaged were showing signs of recovery but some areas still remain damaged. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources will continue to gather, analyze, and report on the official exploration results for future study.
